I’m pleased to announce my essay titled “The 20 Minute Lesson” will be featured in Inspiration for Teachers, the next Chicken Soup for the Soul edition due out in late April.
This particular essay means a lot to me. It chronicles my first parent-teacher conferences and how one changed my perspective. As a first year teacher, I learned many lessons on the job, but was unprepared for the number of lessons I would learn from my students and their parents. It gave new meaning to the quote, “Be kind, for others are fighting a battle you know nothing about.”
I’ve had the good fortune to work with Chicken Soup for the Soul books several times now, and am grateful for every publication. As a writer, I’m always seeking the right “home” for my essays, hoping my words help people on their journey. I’m always glad when I can accomplish that through A Chicken Soup for the Soul anthology.
Thank you for following my work. I hope it speaks to your deepest heart and soul. And if you think others might enjoy my writing, or have an idea of where you feel it would fit, let me know. I’m always open to possibilities.
Peace and gratitude,
Katie
